Since Fear first reported Trocar site hernia (TSH) after gynecological laparoscopy in 1968, there have been more and more reports of similar cases. The safety of laparoscopic treatment has attracted people's attention. The incidence of puncture hole hernia is gradually increasing, with an incidence of about 1% to 6%, and the hernia contents are usually incarcerated small intestine or greater omentum or Richter's hernia. Most of them occur in puncture holes of 10mm or more, and a few occur in 5mm puncture holes. In general, the incidence of puncture hole hernia after surgical laparoscopic colorectal surgery is high, up to 7%.

The occurrence of TSH is due to the presence of a defect in the abdominal wall at the puncture hole, and the tissue or organs in the abdominal cavity protrude through the defect into the subcutaneous space. TSH focuses on prevention and cannot heal itself. Surgical treatment is the only effective means. Only the trend of continued enlargement will affect the patient's daily life and work, reduce the patient's quality of life, and even cause incarceration.

As early as 2000, Duron and other foreign scholars published relevant literature and proposed that "closing the fascia of the puncture hole can effectively prevent or reduce the incidence of puncture hole complications, but sometimes closing the fascia is very difficult, especially in obese patients."

In addition, some scholars emphasize that the fascia must be completely sutured to reduce the incidence of puncture hole complications.

The birth of the sutureable puncture device is in line with the development trend of surgical operations and successfully solved the difficult clinical problems.
